4:59 Workshops, Collaboration

For the second year in a row, the Collective was asked to help out with a window display to help promote the upcoming da Vinci Film Festival.

We hosted a 4:59 workshop with a few of our favorite 4:59ers and decided to base this year’s display on the Festival poster, designed by a student group through OSU’s 208 Design studio. The original design used plexiglass, hand cut letters and wire. Our translation also uses plexiglass and wire, and then cut vinyl (thanks to our friends at NW Graphic Imaging). Add in a couple of vintage theater seats, courtesy of Truen, and some popcorn tubs from the Darkside Cinema … and, ta-da! Window display complete. Cool thing is that most of the signs can be used again in the future. The Festival staff love that.

If you’re in or around Corvallis, you can check it out in person at Footwise on 3rd and Madison.

A few photos from this year’s workshop and installation.

And if you’re curious, here’s what we did last year.

Good thing we took photos — otherwise you’d only have two giant bruises on your head to remember the installation by. :)

I’d almost forgotten about that! A word to the wise for future Footwise window display installers – watch your head going in and out of the little door! It’s lower than you think and it hurts when you ram your head into it.

Looks great. You guys take the window display to new heights. I gotta get more creative this year!

Another great display from the Madison Ave. Collective!

Thanks again to everyone who helped out. The Festival appreciates the MAC’s support, creativity, and bruises. Ouch!
