Look! Here comes the future.

The other day while we had a rare sun break I was standing on my balcony watching the sky to the west where another gray wave was rolling our way. Suddenly, I realized I was looking at the future. It’s true that I try to Be Here Now as much as possible, but sometimes seeing the future can help make Now that much better. Seeing those rain clouds scudding toward me gave me information I could use. I decided to take the hooded jacket with me, thereby making my later Now a whole lot more comfortable.

As you move through your day negotiating with clients, paying bills, or planning next week’s goals, take a moment to (figuratively) look up at the sky. What kinds of forces can you see headed your way (economic, social, personal) that can provide you with information to help make your later Now better?
