Layer Tennis is a series of live design events on Friday afternoons presented by Adobe® Creative Suite® 5.

Two competitors swap a file back and forth in real-time, adding to and embellishing the work. Each artist gets fifteen minutes to complete a “volley” and then we post that to the site live.

The players may be designers, animators, illustrators or pretty much anything else, and they can use any tool or application they like. The match progresses volley by volley.

A third participant, a writer, provides play-by-play commentary on the action as it happens.

The match lasts for ten volleys and when it’s complete, opinioned Season Ticket Holders sound off and we declare a winner. Check Tennis HQ and get lost in the archive of past matches.

Remember “Think outside the box”? Today, you wouldn’t think of using that phrase with your clients, but you could offer to come up with something “crazy fresh.”

The next time you’re thinking up a new ad, design, or pitch, or even a new way of styling a photo shoot, think about how you might use the Incongruity Theory of Humor in your own work to create something memorable—something that “sticks.”

Vinyle Anything »

Sometimes feeling cool, keeps me cool. If I come in to work early and my eyes are half open coffee kicks my brain… but vinyl. Vinyl kicks my soul. I can throw on something new in the old formate like Fleet Foxes, or Death Cab for Cutie or Ben Harper maybe and things just start to seem… warmer up.

Take a look at this site and see. These may not be the first magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of fruits and vegetables, but they’re the first I’ve seen. Check out the way these common food items change and pulse as we watch. Broccoli can look like fireworks, and mushrooms like jellyfish …

… it’s a good reminder that things we are used to can look very different if we take the time to see them in a new way.

In case you do not know what CSS is here is quick review. CSS is a coding that web designers use to visually style websites. Adding styles like font color, size and font, width and widths of items on the page.

Now something new has emerge, CSS3

CSS3 is the latest version of css and it allows for some very cool styling features. Now I could list off 10 ten new features or do a step by step how-to with CSS. Instead i’ll just show you something that is amazing.
