Reading the Pacific NW

Assignment:

Reading the Pacific Northwest is a project of OSU Libraries & Press, bringing memoirs and historical accounts from early Oregon settlers out of the archives and onto the web for the public to enjoy. We designed a website to allow visitors to read these works online, download PDFs, or order printed copies. We also designed a flexible system of book cover templates that identify each work as a part of the series.

Responsibilities:

  • UX/UI design and development
  • Book cover template
  • OSU Open Campus

    Assignment:

OSU Open Campus needed a new website to showcase the vibrancy of its communities, coordinators, and programs.

The site we designed and developed gives each community its own page to talk about their unique opportunities, programs, and qualities — a hub of information for program coordinators, volunteers, participants, and local leaders.

    Responsibilities:

    • Architecture
    • UX/UI design
    • Development
    • Copywriting

    Early Learning Hub

    Responsibilities:

    • Branding and identity
    • Information architecture
    • UX/UI design
    • Front- and back-end development

    Luma America

    Assignment:

With offices from Silicon Valley to Singapore, Luma America provides industrial-strength lighting products. We designed a fresh, intuitive website user experience that leverages their brand assets and identity and showcases their Resilient lighting brand.

Our engagement also included designing case studies, white papers, and technical illustrations.

    Responsibilities:

    • UX/UI design
    • Collateral design
    • Product illustrations

    Communities Reporter Tool

    Assignment:

The OSU Extension Service needed a UX/UI refresh that allowed for smoother workflows and data access, and an ability to create custom collections of data.

But we didn’t want to just apply a new coat of paint to an old website. Instead, our thorough wireframing process looked at it from all directions — allowing us to recommend new functionality and an improved user experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Information architecture
    • Wireframing
    • Interface design

    OSU Major Discovery

    Assignment:

Help incoming students discover which majors of study best fit their personal interests and career goals.

Commissioned by the college of Forestry at Oregon State University, we designed an interactive survey, not just a boring test. Innovative and fun, we named this useful tool Major Discovery — and it really is.

    Responsibilities:

    • Naming
    • Information architecture, UX/UI design, and illustration
    • Front- and back-end development
    • Copy writing/editing

    Oregon Explorer
